Proper nounSingular Internet Plural - Internet
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standardized Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP). It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private and public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by copper wires, fiber-optic cables, wireless connections, and other technologies. The Internet carries a vast array of information resources and services, most notably the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support electronic mail, in addition to popular services such as online chat, file transfer and file sharing, online gaming, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) person-to-person communication via voice and video. The origins of the Internet reach back to the 1960s when the United States funded research projects of its military agencies to build robust, fault-tolerant and distributed computer networks. This research and a period of civilian funding of a new U.S. backbone by the National Science Foundation spawned worldwide participation in the development of new networking technologies and led to the commercialization of an international network in the mid 1990s, and resulted in the following popularization of countless applications in virtually every aspect of modern human life. By 2009, an estimated quarter of Earth's population uses the services of the Internet (see Growth). From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What internet service is the cheapest with high speed internet that is wireless? Q. Also, my second question is, is how is Cricket's internet service for your computer? I live in Colorado, if that helps. Asked by Maytoi - Mon Jun 8 03:31:37 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. wireless is not really an option here. just get home hi speed service and buy a wireless router for yourself (instead of renting one for 2 bucks each month) I don't think cricket service would allow for a comfortable internet connection that you're used to. as far as providers go? it all depends on whats happening in your area. I see that others have password protected wi-fi internet so does anyone know how to set up password for wifi internet? Asked by Marek S - Tue Apr 28 12:46:09 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. You need to log on to your router. I hope you know UI/PWD, and make it secured by adding password. Anyone within range can now use your wirelss access. Answered by vern - Tue Apr 28 13:02:04 2009 Do you need an internet connection to download apps to an ipod Touch?
Q. I am planning on getting an ipod Touch but I was wondering if you need an internet connection to download apps from the apps store(I think that is what it is called?) because I'm not sure what the internet connection adds to the iPod Touch.Do you also need and internet connection to download music and movies to your iPod Touch? Please answer.Thank you. Asked by Nintendo Rocker - Sun Jan 25 00:19:26 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. I strongly disagree with all of these people. if you have itunes already then try to follow along. when you go to the itunes homepage within itunes, look at the first menu down the right side of the page, it should have the heading 'itunes store'. in this menu find 'app store', its usually at the bottom. From this part of itunes you can do many things to find the app you are looking for. the app then downloads to your ipod the same way songs do. -for this you do need a computer with an internet connection, but since you made this post i don't think thats a problem. You can also connect to the app store over wi-fi directly from the ipod touch.
