What is the fastest engine for my 2001 cavalier?
Q. I already have 120,000 miles on my 2001 cavalier and am trying to find the fastest & inexpensive engine to buy for my cavalier once it brakes down on me. I would just sell it off but have already put too much money into the looks of it and don't want to lose out. I have heard the ecotech engines are good but don't have pricing. Also, going to add a turbo charger or supercharger which ever is better for the new engine.

A. You don't say which engine you have, but I assume that you do not have the V6. The Quad 4 engine came in that car and is an excellent candidate for making a relatively quick car. The 5 speed is an excellent transmission as is the differential. All are reasonably stout pieces of equipment. When GM built them in the W41 Cutlass of the early 90's. they were excellent performers, producing an advertised 190 hp. Since I know you have Yahoo, please check with Quadfourm in Yahoo groups. There is a wealth of information there including a fellow with a turbocharger who is quite successful at the drags. How can I get my 2001 Saturn's seatbelts to retract properly again?
Q. I have a 2001 Saturn L300. In the past couple of months, both of the front seatbelts have stopped retracting on their own. They work fine, but when you go to shut the door, the seatbelt will often get caught in the door because the belt doesn't slide back into its "holder." Is there a way to fix this, without replacing the entire seatbelt? I keep thinking maybe there is some small part that needs to be replaced. Thanks in advance for any advice!

A. The seatbelt tensioner needs to be adjusted or replaced. Go to a certified GM dealership.

How to find out if my 2001 honda civic lx 2d has a keyless entry system?
Q. I am trying to find out if my 2001 honda civic lx 2d has a keyless entry system already installed. I was wonder if someone could tell me where to look in my car to see if I have it. I have power locks so i dont know if that means anything. Also if im pretty good at installing things is it easy to install if i buy the system off line? Thanks for your help!

A. the 2001 Civic LX did not come with the factory keyless entry as standard equipment. It was available as a dealer installed accessory. The easiest way to tell if you have it, provided the original owner didn't lose it is to see if you have a remote transmitter. If you have an oval shaped black key fob with lock and unlock buttons that says "honda" on it, you have keyless. If you don't have the fob it may have been lost but the overwhelming odds are that you don't have keyless entry on it. With patience you can install the factory keyless remote system with little problem. I have the instructions from the one I put on my 2005. They are the same system.
