Material is synonymous with substance, and is anything made of matter – hydrogen, air and water are all examples of materials. Sometimes the term "material" is used more narrowly to refer to substances or components with certain physical properties that are used as inputs to production or manufacturing. In this sense, materials are the parts required to make something else, from buildings and art to stars and computers. Raw materials and processingA material can be anything: a finished product in its own right or an unprocessed raw material. Raw materials are first extracted or harvested from the earth and divided into a form that can be easily transported and stored, then processed to produce semi-finished materials. These can be input into a new cycle of production and finishing processes to create finished materials, ready for distribution, construction, and consumption. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I'm making a model of the Enterprise for my Physics class Any ideas of how to make it? Like what materials might I need? I don't want to make this extremely complicated Any suggestions? You can easily sculpt it with kitchen utensils, or if you want to make it a little nicer, your crafts store will usually have a few cheap sculpting tools (usually as an inexpensive little pack). All you need to do is sculpt the styrofoam into the saurcer, the neck, the hull (whatever it's called). The nacelles and uh... supports.. could also be sculpted. All you have to do is glue everything together. If the styrofoam is good, and your glue is good (anchor each attachment point with two round kitchen toothpicks), you'll have your own official Enterprise. If you prefer, you can make the nacelles and supports out of wooden dowels. It might not look as pretty, but it's probably easier. Good luck! Q. Well my Travel n Tourism homework is to get a promotional material from a company or whatever. I can do hotel, tour operator or airport. I chose airport, but now im thinking what kind of materials can i get from it? BTW it's Doncaster Robin Hood Airport! Asked by Uvision Song Contest - Thu Nov 13 16:12:05 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Try going to the airport's website and see what it has to say. Usually the airport's website will promote itself saying why people should fly into their airport. Maybe it is closer to certain attractions versus other airports or it is less congested than the more major airports. From the website you can see if they have a contact us button where you can call them and ask if they have any promotional material.
